What's in a Name?

{doe•ee•bird} photography.

Is it quirky?

Totally.

Is it unique?

Absolutely.

Is it easy to spell?

Come on people! It's phonetic! How hard is that?  OK, OK, I get it- our brains aren't trained to think phonetically (but wouldn't life be easy if it were? That's another blog post)

Let's move on.  Special characters. Good or bad idea?

Very, very bad idea.  More than one package came to me with doe#*>ee#*>bird because the "system" couldn't handle special characters. Seriously, what is so special about bullets and parantheses?  This just about drove me to the funny farm more than once.

So I decided it was time for a name change. LIKE TWO YEARS AGO. You have no idea how hard it is to name a business unless you have one of course!  I wanted one word that encapsulated all I did- children, families, seniors, etc.  And here is what I came up with.

Spry [sprahy]
- adjective, spry-er, spry-est, or spri-er, spri-est
- active; nimble; agile; energetic; brisk.
Origin: 1740-50; orig. uncert.

I have been working on rebranding for a seriously OBNOXIOUS amount of time. Like months and months and months. On and off through my busy season and through more than one blog designer (first one ran off with my deposit, sniff, sniff). But finally, FINALLY, even though I know some links are not yet working on the blog and I need to go through the website ONE MORE time, I am launching and announcing to the world that I am no longer {doe•ee•bird}, you can now refer to me as SpryArt.

YAY!

Would LOVE LOVE LOVE if you would visit the new site and new blog "like" me on facebook!  Yes, that means I will no longer be updating this blog!!

Thank you to all my awesome clients- I started this business on a whim over three years ago and never EVER imagined I would be able to earn a living doing it.

That's great! I searched your new page and couldn't find it there, but this is awesome! I figured SpryArt was part Tracy spelled backwards... why i said SpryCart at first.... I wish you lots of luck and will miss Doeybird... or was it Do E Bird... or Doe E bi.... oh well! SpryArt it is! Congratulations!

of course like your website however you need to test the spelling on quite a few of your posts.
A number of them are rife with spelling problems and I to
find it very troublesome to tell the reality nevertheless I'll certainly come back again.
